THURSDAY ELDERLY ACTIVITIES

The Elderly Australian Chinese Homes organises a day activity for the frail aged Chinese on every Thursday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the First Scout Hall, 17 Waimea Street, Burwood. [Map]

Aim of Day Activities
The weekly day activites provide a forum for elderly Chinese to gather together to have fun and to make friends. Through participating in our activities, we hope to break their socail isolation due to language and other cultural barriers.

Activities
A variety of activities are provided every week to satisfy various interests and tastes. They include art and handicraft classes, gentle exercises, health and safety talks, mahjong games, karaoke, sudoku, painting lessons, singing, dancing, bingo and Cantonese operattas. Outings and picnics will also be organised during the year. The monthly programme will be published in Chinese newspapers.

Eligibility
All elderly Chinese over 65 are welcome.
